and so we were at the world effie festival 2008 on the 28th and 29th of february,
held at the suntec convention centre.
the round tables were laid, jugs filled with water, and mentos sweets await delegates at the ballroom for the opening speech.
this is the floor which we walked on. cool, i know.
actually i'm joking. that was the ceiling. i rotated the picture 180 degrees cos i thought it'd look fancier that way.
(this is a celebration of advertising/branding/effectiveness okay, so need to be abit more creative.)
some enthusiastic schoolgirls were there, from the one and only NTUWKWSCI. (i cant believe that was supposed to be an abbreviation.) sorry girls, dark photo.
some more demure looking people were there, smiling sweetly for the camera.
there was lunch provided (i refrain from using the word 'free'), and this is the shot of us all with our "very brilliant"--said in a British accent--lecturers Dr Yeoh and Tim Clark.
and i have here a confession to make. the photo up there is edited. we were actually in a tutorial room in school and i photoshopped the background. no i'm kidding. there was the red-eyed syndrome for everyone (except for 2) and so i decided to use the burn tool and give everyone dark marble eyes. it wasn't intentional, and justin said there's some tool in photoshop to edit that but he didn't specify, so i took matters into my own hands. and so here's the result. i think everyone looked prettier! hahaha.
alright, i hope that didn't just quash my future employment in the industry.
ok here is the final photo. this is evidence that i was there listening attentively to our ministor mentor, and breathing the same circulated air as him in the ballroom. it was almost sacred, though as you can see, he was the size of my thumb where we sat. but it was, grand.
you can read more about effie's in col's blog. (she's got it all summarised there.)
it was a real eye-opener, i must say. the goodie bag/ricesack and other complimentary stuffs aside, i believe we took away so much more than we would otherwise have if we stuck ourselves within the 4 walls of a classroom.
i know. cool right.
